MVT Testing Halogen testing service MVT Testing International Group can test the content of fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br) and iodine (I). |
Halogen means that Group VIIA elements in the chemical periodic table include fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br), iodine (I), and strontium (At). Among them, strontium (At) is a radioactive element, which is scarcely present in the product. The first four elements are present in the product as an organic compound, especially in the polymer material.
Halogen application
Halogen compounds currently used in products are mainly flame retardants, such as PBB, PBDE, TBBP-A, PCB, hexabromododecane, tribromophenol, short-chain chlorinated kinds of paraffin; used as refrigerants and thermal insulation materials. Ozone-destroying substances, such as CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs, etc., and solvents, organic chemical raw materials, pesticides, bleaching agents, wool degreasing agents, etc.
Halogen hazard
Toxicity to the immune system, effects on the endocrine system, effects on reproduction and development, carcinogenesis, other toxicities (mental and psychological disorders), most halides are environmental hormones. EU 2002/95/EC: Limit the use of brominated flame retardants 《Montreal Protocol》: Limit 5 types of chlorofluorocarbon carbides (CFCs) and 3 halons (Halon) 《STOCKHOLM CONVENTION》: Restrictions on organochlorine pesticides, hexachlorobenzene (HCB), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) IEC 61249-2-21 halogen limit requirements: chlorine, bromine, total halogen
Halogen limit
Chlorine limit of 900PPM, bromine limit of 900PPM, total halogen (bromine + chlorine) < 1500PPM;
